Built in the early 1980's, the M42 motorway links Birmingham with the East Midlands.
Due to the legislation allowing larger vehicles on to our roads from Europe, it was found that the Bridge piers were deemed inadequate in the event of a RTA.
Our Team worked on the strengthening and associated ancillary ground works relating to this scheme, one of which meant night time working to ease the impact on day time traffic. Similar schemes were completed to the same specification, namely at Corby Service Station on the M6 motorway.
